Our Story

The Alma Bryant High School Youth Activist Coalition was founded in 2006.  We are a student directed club dedicated to helping our school and our community.

All students, grades 9-12 are welcome to join YAC. Members must maintain appropriate behavior and maintain passing grades in all classes. Upon becoming a member, YAC-ateers are asked to sign a pledge and are expected to abide by the guidelines of this pledge.

Members of YAC are expected to take leadership roles on campus and in the community. It is not uncommon to see YAC members picking up trash around campus. YAC members are expected to help any member of the school staff, guests and visitors as well as their fellow students.

YAC-ateers are encouraged to research and develop ways to help in the school and throughout the community. This may include tutoring, mentoring, or physical labor.
